My main camera is Toyo 45AR field camera with a rotating back It's a little on the heavy side--about 6lbs. But it is all metal and very durable. For a tripod I use a Bogen with a 3 way head. I prefer the Bogen because it sets up so fast. Just flick the leg levers and let them drop down. The latest version of this tripod is really nice because, so far, it has been maintenance free. My film of choice is Fujichrome Velvia. The color saturation is great. I use the quick load style which are prepackaged in cardboard envelopes and inserted into a special holder. They are a little more expensive but the result is an extremely clean transparency that is free of pin holes. Using the quick load style eliminates the need to download and reload film holders which saves about an hour per day.. When on the road any extra time is welcome. Recently I have been shooting the Kodak Ektachrome 100 VS for 35mm and medium format work. It is an excellent film with saturation that is comparable to Velvia but with slightly less contrast. For lenses I use a mixed bag: 2 Schneiders, 3 Fujinons and 1 Nikkor.
It's all good glass.
Filters carried are the 812, 81B,81D and a polarizer. The use of stepping rings allows me to carry only one filter diameter which saves significant weight in my Tamrac backpack. |
