AgaveSPS Support - Windows Vista

When running AgaveSPS on Windows Vista, two items need to be addressed.

1. The UAC (User Account Control) must be disabled.  There are several ways of doing this, none are difficult. If the UAC is not disabled AgaveSPS may not start. Instead a message will appear stating: could not initialize BDE.
For easy step-wise instructions on disabling the UAC, go to http://www.petri.co.il/disable_uac_in_windows_vista.htm

2. With the release of Vista, Microsoft has discontinued the distribution WinHlp32.exe which was the core engine for running the help files of virtually all Windows programs since Windows 95. If using a pre installed version of Vista you will need to download the WinHlp32.exe from Microsoft if you wish to use the Agave context sensitive help files.
Go to http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=82148  to download WinHlp32.exe.

Note: If running a computer that was upgraded from XP, the WinHlp32.exe should already be on your computer.

3. Be sure you are logged on and running Agave as an administrator.

We apologize for this inconvenience and are working to remedy the situation.
